Volunteer Handbook
All volunteers should be familiar with the handbook, which covers the Trap Checkers Guide, Health and Safety, required skills and knowledge, and contact details for the Friends of the Blade Organising Group.
Buddy Form
If you’re tending your trap line outside our formal Friday musters, leave a completed Buddy Form with a friend or relative before heading out.
Incident Report Form
If you notice a potential risk, or have an accident or near-miss, please complete an Incident Report Form and forward it to the Health & Safety Officer.
Field Maps App User Guide 2025
For volunteers downloading and using the Field Maps App for the first time.
Reception is poor in parts of our trapping area, so please follow the guide to set up the app for offline use. Most volunteers have Read Only access, so instructions about syncing or adding trap records won’t apply.
If a “Your email has not been verified” message appears, select “skip for now”.
All volunteers should have the Field Maps App on their phone and know how to use it for safe navigation in the trapping area. Please email us if you have any questions or problems.
Field Maps App – Remove & Download Offline Area
For volunteers who downloaded the Field Maps App before March 2025 and need to update their offline area. If you first downloaded the app after March 2025, you can ignore this guide.
